Behind it All
I’m Avery Pearson, and my journey into Pilates didn’t start in a studio — it started on a dance floor in Calgary, Alberta. I grew up as a competitive studio dancer, and from a young age, I was completely hooked on movement — how the body flows, balances, and tells stories without saying a word.
That love for movement led me to study Kinesiology at the University of Calgary, where I dove deep into anatomy, biomechanics, and the science behind how we move. But it wasn’t until I discovered Pilates that everything clicked.
At the time, I was dealing with lingering injuries from years of dance and had chronic back pain that just wouldn’t quit. Pilates was the game-changer. It helped me rebuild from the inside out — strengthening muscles I didn’t know I had, correcting imbalances, and giving me a whole new appreciation for what my body could do. It honestly felt like magic — but backed by science.
For the last three years, I’ve been lucky enough to teach Pilates in physiotherapy clinics, guiding people through their own healing and strength-building journeys. I’ve worked with clients recovering from injuries, managing chronic pain, and simply looking to feel stronger and more confident in their bodies. Nothing lights me up more than helping people realize just how powerful they truly are.
That’s what A.L.P. Pilates is all about.
Personalized, intentional movement that meets you exactly where you are. Whether you're here to rehab, to grow stronger, to move without pain, or to just feel better in your skin — I’m here to support you every step of the way.
So let’s move. Let’s strengthen. Let’s unlock the version of you that feels unstoppable.
I can’t wait to meet you.
